Thomas Marko & Associés forges ties with Mondial Tissus

Following a consultation process, Mondial Tissus, France'sleading retailer of fabrics by the meter and haberdashery, has chosen Thomas Marko & Associés to implement its product and corporate media relations, influencer relations and event communications strategy. As part of this collaboration, the agency is responsible for supporting the brand in promoting its offer, services and initiatives to the media, influencers and the general public, through an action plan designed to increase brand awareness, appeal and in-store traffic. With Mondial Tissus, the agency strengthens its portfolio in the retail and consumer sectors.

Mondial Tissus from every angle

Founded in 1981, Lyon-based Mondial Tissus is now a market leader. It has established itself as the benchmark for sewing, DIY and decorating enthusiasts. With 121 sales outlets (France and Belgium), a rich offering of fabrics, sewing and home accessories (over 50,000 products) and a wide range of services (made-to-measure garments, sewing machine rental and repair, in-store sewing workshops, etc.), the company caters to both private and professional customers. Thanks to a strategy of constant innovation and a positioning as close as possible to creative trends, Mondial Tissus is accompanying the rise of the "hand-made" movement in France, becoming a key player in responsible consumption and made-to-measure. Certified Great Place To Work®, the company employs nearly 1,200 people who are committed to the success of its brand.

By 2023, Mondial Tissus will have achieved sales of 150 million euros and, between 2017 and 2023, expanded its network from 70 to 114 stores across France. While continuing its franchise development, with 29 stores to date, as well as its international expansion begun in 2019 with a first German e-commerce site, in 2021 the French leader will acquire the eight Mondial Textiles outlets to establish itself in Belgium. Finally, in 2022, Mondial Tissus launches a Spanish e-commerce site, followed by three Italian, Dutch and Swedish e-commerce sites in the first half of 2024. This expansion consolidates Mondial Tissus' position as a key player in the textile sector.

In July 2024, the Group announced the appointment of its General Manager, Bernard Cherqui, to the presidency of Alliance du Commerce, the1st French trade organization for personal goods, which brings together the Union du grand commerce de centre-ville, the Fédération des enseignes de l'habillement and the Fédération des enseignes de la chaussure, representing 761 brands.
