Protecting siblings in danger

Visuel Fondation Action Enfance

Who is it?

Fondation ACTION ENFANCE welcomes, protects and educates young people in danger, from childhood to adulthood. Separated from their parents by court order for reasons of abuse, neglect or family difficulties, 1,000 children are brought together in 15 Children’s and Adolescents’ Villages in France, where they can rebuild their lives, surrounded by family educators.

Which cause?

Protecting children and adolescents in difficult situations. Founded in 1958, ACTION ENFANCE, which is recognized as a charitable organization, works with the Departmental Councils and the Aide Sociale à l’Enfance, in particular to ensure that brothers and sisters in care are not separated. ACTION ENFANCE has set up the Village d’Enfants et d’Adolescents (Children’s and Adolescents’ Village) to provide these children with a quality living environment on a human scale, while guaranteeing a special relationship with their family educators. Sponsored by Marc Lièvremont and Jean Dujardin, the foundation employs 750 people, including 509 educators and family assistants, and manages a budget of €58 million.

What strategy?

The agency supports the foundation and its spokespersons in promoting their expertise in child protection and the positive initiatives implemented within each Children’s and Adolescents’ Village, in both local and national media. The “ACTION ENFANCE fait son Cinéma” operation, which brings together students from partner film schools, specialized educators, children taken in by the foundation and film personalities (Michel Hazanavicius, Éric Tolédano, Audrey Fleuriot, Aure Atika…), is a highlight of the annual communication plan, with a ceremony at the Grand Rex in Paris.

What results?

A 12-year collaboration that has enabled the Fondation ACTION ENFANCE to emerge in the media and raise awareness of the societal challenges of child protection – in a context of fierce “competition” between NGOs – through numerous TV news programs and long-form formats, as well as in-depth features in the opinion media.
